Guided visits to the cellar and wine tasting in Montefalco

The small vineyards of 12 hectares and the little production that results allow us to have greater care and control of the entire production chain.

We produce 16 different wines from the exclusive use of grapes collected in our vineyard, which, after being harvested by hand, are brought into the cellar for crushing. Then fermentation follows, each one with different times and attentions, so as to obtain the maximum expression from every vine. The red wines then continue their journey, being transferred into wooden barrels for aging.
We use barrels of various volumes and manufactured with different woods: from common 500-liter tonneaux made of french oak to large barrels of 10hl, 15hl and 25hl, built of French, Hungarian and Slavonian oak.

A large selection of white, rosé and red wines, among which those of the Montefalco DOC and DOCG denomination, rich in taste and intense aromas.

The wide choice of wines also includes passiti, the most important of which is the Sagrantino Passito DOCG but we have also passito di Grechetto, Moscato and Merlot IGT Umbria. These, like all the wines produced here, follow the course of the season.

Montefalco wine tasting events

The Umbrian territory is rich in food and wine products that are enhanced by a careful promotion, thus allowing everyone to know the quality of the local productions.

In this context the Consorzio Tutela Vini Montefalco aims to unite the different wineries that are located within the denomination zone: area that contains the 5 municipalities of Montefalco, Bevagna, Gualdo Cattaneo, Casterl Ritaldi and Giano dell’Umbria, both for production purposes and for the organization of tasting events.

Wine has always been synonymous with conviviality and the purpose of such events is to highlight the social and cultural importance of this product.
